Valuation Methodology

These valuations represent average redemption values across typical use cases for each program. We calculate cpp by analyzing:

  • Award pricing across domestic and international routes/properties
  • Availability of standard vs peak/saver awards
  • Cash price alternatives for comparable itineraries
  • Sweet spots and redemption opportunities unique to each program

Your value may differ. Premium cabin flyers typically extract 2.0+ cpp from airline miles. Budget travelers may find hotel points less valuable than the averages shown. Use our calculator to determine your personal valuations.

When to Transfer vs Hold Points

✅ Transfer when:

  • You have a specific award in mind and need to book soon
  • A transfer bonus is active (20–30% extra points)
  • A program is devaluing soon (e.g., Bilt→Hyatt Jan 1, 2027)
  • The partner offers better value than portal redemption

⚠️ Hold points when:

  • You don't have immediate travel plans
  • You're waiting for a transfer bonus
  • You want flexibility across multiple programs
  • The partner program has expiration concerns
